Colin's Photos, Day 6 (September 29): Gotanda, Hokkaido Food Fest, Setagaya, and Sangenjaya

Here's my photos from day 6. I went with Yuri to Gotanda, the neighborhood where I used to live in 2005. Was fascinating to see what had changed and what was still the same. We also stopped by Harajuku's famous Takeshita Street, where Yuri got trapped for some time in a gacha store.

Then the entire group met up for lunch at the Hokkaido Food Festival, which was being held in Yoyogi Park. Lots of good food there, and the street-fair atmosphere made it easy to order and share several different things.

After that, some of us split off to Setagaya, where there's a shrine that claims to be the origin of the omnipresent Lucky Cat statues, and the ruins of a castle.

Finally, Yuri and I went to Sangenjaya, an area of Tokyo that was fictionalized as "Yongenjaya" in Persona 5, which is the main character's home. Several of the places in this neighborhood were shown directly in the game, including the grocery store and a coin laundry & public bath (which were unfortunately already closed for the night).
